MOSCOW, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- Russia plans to expand its orbital constellation of satellites to 650 by 2030, said Yury Borisov, head of Russia's state space corporation Roscosmos on Tuesday.
Borisov noted that this total does not include commercial satellites.
"This year, we are launching an ambitious national project, which will aim to strengthen our presence in space and help our industry become a driver in achieving technological sovereignty," Borisov said.
Russia's constellation currently consists of 288 satellites, he said. Enditem
