VIENTIANE, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- Laos' Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, along with development partners, has held a series of disaster risk reduction workshops to empower women and boost community resilience.
The workshops were held in four districts across Khammuan and Champasak provinces, training 193 participants, including 112 women, Lao News Agency reported on Wednesday.
The program focused on involving women in decision-making regarding water management and sanitation, addressing barriers to their participation, and building entrepreneurial skills in water-related sectors.
Participants also developed disaster risk reduction plans and explored economic opportunities in water management.
By empowering women, fostering collaboration among diverse groups, and adopting a holistic approach, this initiative lays the groundwork for safer, more inclusive communities across Laos, ensuring that women play a central role in shaping a resilient future. Enditem
