Israel launches 61-mln-USD nationwide innovation plan

JERUSALEM, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli Ministry of Economy and Industry on Wednesday announced the launch of a nationwide plan to establish infrastructure across hi-tech and deep-tech sectors.

According to a ministry statement, the initiative includes 13 selected projects with an investment of 220 million shekels (about 61 million U.S. dollars).

The initiative aims to create a robust infrastructure to support the growth of emerging companies, generate high-quality jobs, boost Israeli exports, and solidify Israel's position as a global leader in entrepreneurship and innovation, said the statement.

It includes wet chemical and biological laboratories, new food tech infrastructure, robotic and modular production systems, drone facilities, AI materials labs, and hospital-related projects, among others, the statement said. Enditem
