FIRIZ KOAH, Afghanistan, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- Army personnel have discovered and destroyed an illegal drug lab in western Afghanistan's Ghor province, an army statement said Thursday.
Acting on tip-off, the personnel of the Islamic army raided Sia Sangak village in Dawlatyar district on Wednesday, discovering and smashing an illicit drug lab, the statement asserted.
Around 300 kg of illicit drugs and the objects used in manufacturing heroin were also discovered and set on fire during the operations, the statement further said.
The statement, however, did not say if anyone had been arrested.
In similar operations, the security forces burned 10.5 tons of illegal drugs in central Bamiyan province a couple of days ago. Enditem
