TEHRAN, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- At least two people were killed and 19 others injured in a collision between a minibus and a semi-trailer truck on an intercity highway in Iran's northern province of Alborz on Thursday, the official news agency IRNA reported.

All those injured in the accident were transferred to the hospital by two helicopters and eight ambulances, IRNA quoted Ahmad Mahdavi, head of the emergency medical services department of Alborz University of Medical Sciences, as saying.

He added the provincial traffic police were investigating the cause of the incident.

Alborz province is located some 44 kilometers west of the Iranian capital Tehran. Enditem
