TALLINN, Jan. 31, (Xinhua) -- Nina Petrykina clinched the women's gold medal at the ISU European Figure Skating Championships held at Tallinn's Tondiraba Ice Hall on Friday.

Her victory marks the first time an Estonian athlete has secured a European title in figure skating.

In her free skate program, Petrykina achieved a personal best score of 139.24 points, bringing her combined total to 208.18 points across both programs, also a new personal best and her first time surpassing the 200-point threshold.

Overwhelmed with emotion after the results were announced, Petrykina could hardly contain her tears. "I can't describe what's going on inside me. I'm used to performing, not talking in front of so many spectators. I still don't realize what is happening," she said.

The championships took place in Tallinn from January 29 to February 2. Enditem
