Pakistan's weekly inflation eases by 0.36 pct

ISLAMABAD, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- The weekly inflation of Pakistan measured by the Sensitive Price Index has decreased by 0.36 percent on a week-on-week basis, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said on Saturday.

During the week ending on Jan. 30, the major commodities that witnessed a decrease included tomatoes, eggs, firewood, electricity charges, wheat flour, and onions, the PBS said.

During the same period, a major increase was observed in the prices of bananas, chicken, sugar, cooking oil, and beef, the bureau said.

On a year-on-year basis, the inflation increased by 0.44 percent, the PBS noted. Enditem
