PHNOM PENH, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia arrested 1,311 drug suspects involved in 539 cases in January, the country's Anti-Drug Department (ADP) said in a report on Saturday.
Fifty-six percent of the suspects were allegedly drug traffickers, possessors and transporters, while 44 percent were drug users, the report said.
"A total of 423.3 kilograms of illicit drugs had been confiscated from those suspects' possession from Jan. 1 to Jan. 31, 2025," the report said.
Most of the seized drugs were ketamine, crystal methamphetamine, methamphetamine pills, ecstasy, heroin, and cocaine.
The kingdom has no death sentence for drug traffickers. Under its law, those found guilty of trafficking more than 80 grams of illicit drugs could be imprisoned for life. Enditem
