LONDON, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- Liverpool put the pressure back in Arsenal at the top of the Premier League on Saturday when the league leader came through a difficult game away to an in-form Bournemouth with a 2-0 win.

Mohamed Salah was Liverpool's hero, scoring a first-half penalty and then cutting inside from the right to curl in a left-foot shot to assure the points with 15 minutes to go.

Bournemouth hadn't lost in its 11 previous league games and the win puts Liverpool nine points clear of Arsenal, who faces Manchester City in a huge game on Sunday.

Nottingham Forest recovered from last weekend's 5-0 defeat away to Bournemouth to draw level on points with Arsenal in style, as it beat Brighton 7-0 to make it clear it has not renounced its title options.

Striker Chris Wood continued his incredible season with a hat-trick, with his goals coming after 32, 64 and 69 minutes, putting Forest out of sight after Lewis Dunk turned Morgan Gibbs-White's cross into his own net after 12 minutes.

Gibbs-White doubled Forest's lead in the 25th minute, with Neco Williams and Jota Silva scoring late goals in a game where winger Anthony Elanga provided three assists.

Fulham came back from behind to put the brakes on Newcastle United with a 2-1 win at St James' Park.

Newcastle was good value for Jacob Murphy's 37th minute opener, but Fulham fought back after the break, drawing level thanks to the goal from Raul Jimenez, before Rodrigo Muniz won the game when he turned in a free kick at the far post with eight minutes left to play.

David Moyes continues to work his magic back at Everton as his side claimed a third consecutive win after thumping Leicester City 4-0.

If Leicester had hopes of building on last weekend's win away to Tottenham, it got a rapid reality check after Abdoulaye Doucoure and Beto had put Everton 2-0 ahead after just six minutes.

Beto made it 3-0 on the stroke of halftime, with Iliman Ndiaye adding a fourth goal in the last minute.

Ipswich Town suffered what has to be viewed as a crushing defeat as the team lost 2-1 at home to Southampton, who had traveled to Portman Road with just six points all season.

Nerves got the better of Ipswich in a 'must-win' game as Southampton took the lead through Joe Aribo in the 21st minute.

Liam Delap again showed his quality by sprinting through to level before halftime, but although Ipswich had most of the game after the break, it failed to score and was hit by a sucker-punch when Paul Onuachu turned home in the 87th minute to give Southampton all three points.

Ipswich's defeat will be even more painful after fellow struggler Wolverhampton Wanderers ended a run of four straight defeats with a 2-0 win at home to local rival Aston Villa. Enditem
