MANILA, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and two others injured in a three-car crash in Iloilo province in the central Philippines early Monday morning, police said.

A 29-year-old male passenger who was hanging on the entrance of a speeding jeepney and a male taxi driver were killed in the crash that occurred around 5:30 a.m. local time in the street of Santa Barbara town.

The crash happened when the speeding taxi crashed into the rear of a bus that was making a U-turn. The impact caused the bus to hit an oncoming jeepney, causing the hanging man to fly off and hit the road.

It is common in the Philippines to see passengers hanging at the entrance of an overcrowded moving jeepney.

The passenger and the taxi driver were pronounced dead at a local hospital, according to the police. Enditem
