DAMASCUS -- The death toll from a car bombing near a truck in the northern Syrian city of Manbij on Monday has risen to 20, according to a statement from the Syrian presidency.

The explosion, which took place on a main road on the outskirts of Manbij in Aleppo province, marks the deadliest attack in the region since the downfall of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in December 2024. (Syria-Car Bombing-Death Toll)

KHARTOUM -- At least 67 people were killed on Sunday in an artillery shelling by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on El Fasher, the capital city of North Darfur State in western Sudan, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) announced on Monday.

"Among the victims were 30 women, 17 children, and 20 men," the army's 6th Infantry Division said in a statement, identifying them as all civilians. (Sudan-Civil War-Deaths)

RAMALLAH -- A Palestinian official announced on Monday that 60 Palestinian prisoners, released by Israel as part of a ceasefire deal and currently in Egypt, will be deported to Türkiye, Qatar, Malaysia, and Pakistan.

Abdullah Zaghari, head of the Palestinian Prisoners Club, said each of the four countries would host 15 Palestinian prisoners, adding that there are currently 70 Palestinian prisoners staying in a hotel in the New Administrative Capital of Egypt, pending deportation.
