SYDNEY, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- Multiple passengers have been treated for minor injuries and a driver has been hospitalized after a bus crashed into a house in western Sydney on Tuesday.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash in Bonnyrigg Heights, about 30 km west of central Sydney, at 9:50 a.m. local time on Tuesday.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service in the state of New South Wales said that paramedics assessed seven people -- six bus passengers and the driver -- at the scene.

The passengers were all treated for cuts and bruises and walked away from the crash. The male driver has been taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The crash caused significant damage to the home, with footage from the scene captured by news helicopters showing part of the roof caved in.

Nobody was inside the house at the time of the crash.

Firefighters assessed the damage and said the house was stable.

A tow truck was deployed to remove the bus and police have commenced an investigation into the incident. Enditem
