YANGON -- Myanmar's Yangon is experiencing high air pollution, with air quality varying between 50 and 200 air quality index (AQI), U Hla Tun, director of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, told Xinhua on Wednesday, adding that levels reaching 200 are considered unhealthy.

COLOMBO -- The highest number of tourists arrivals for the month of January in history was reported in 2025, the latest data by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) shows.

VIENTIANE -- Laos has experienced a remarkable surge in tourism, surpassing expectations for both domestic and international visitors in 2024, according to recent data.

During the Visit Laos Year 2024 tourism promotion campaign, domestic visitors exceeded 3 million, marking a 102 percent increase from 2023, while international visitors rose by 21 percent, with over 4.1 million visits, Lao Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism Suansavanh Viyaket said during the ministry's meeting on Wednesday.
