OTTAWA, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- The Canadian federal government on Thursday announced a new National Cyber Security Strategy (NCSS) to outline the country's long-term plan to reduce critical infrastructure disruptions.
According to a news release issued by Public Safety Canada, the new strategy would improve partnerships across all levels of government, law enforcement, industry, Indigenous communities, academia and international allies.
This new NCSS would support Canada-U.S. cross-border critical infrastructure and cyber resilience as well, said the release.
The new NCSS is coupled with an initial investment of 37.8 million Canadian dollars (26.4 million U.S. dollars) over six years, the release added.
The 2018 strategy saw the creation of the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security based within the Communications Security Establishment, and the National Cybercrime Coordination Centre under the stewardship of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Enditem
