ISLAMABAD, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani security forces claimed on Friday to have killed three terrorists in an operation in the North Waziristan tribal district of the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of Pakistan army, said in a statement that the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Datta Khel area of the district on reported presence of terrorists on Thursday night.

During the conduct of the operation, the troops effectively killed the terrorists who were trying to escape wearing women's attire, said the ISPR.

The security forces also recovered weapons and ammunition from the killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.

A clearance operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area, as security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, the ISPR added. Enditem
