2 killed in Polish car accident in Germany: media

WARSAW, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and one injured in a road accident in Germany on Friday morning, according to media reports.

The accident happened when a Polish van drove into the back of a truck stuck in a traffic jam on the A2 motorway in Brandenburg.

According to Polish news channel TVN24, German police have said that the injured person was the 52-year-old driver of the van, who was taken to hospital. His two passengers died at the scene. The police are not currently releasing details of the accident.

The accident occurred early Friday morning on the Berlin-bound carriageway between Ziesar and Wollin in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district. The carriageway towards Berlin was completely blocked until 11:15 a.m. local time.

According to TVN24, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported after 1 p.m. that Polish people had died in the crash. Enditem
