LONDON, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- Manchester City had to suffer after being on the wrong side of one of the best goals of the season, as it came back from a goal down to claim a narrow 2-1 win away to Leyton Orient in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday.
20-year-old Orient midfielder, Jamie Donley put the League One (third division) team ahead after 16 minutes when he tried his luck from over 40 meters out. His magnificent shot hit the underside of the bar and ended up in the back of the net off the back of City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega.
Orient held onto its lead until 11 minutes into the second half when Rico Lewis' shot took a big deflection off recent City signing, Abdukodir Khusanov to level the score, before Kevin de Bruyne won the game with a finish from close range in the 79th minute.
The bad news for Manchester City was a back injury that forced new signing Nico Gonzalez out of the game after 20 minutes.
Antoine Semenyo's penalty and a 43rd minute goal from Daniel Jebbison gave Bournemouth a 2-0 win away to Everton, who was perhaps distracted by next Wednesday's final local derby at home to Liverpool.
Brighton came back from conceding an early goal at home to Chelsea to recover from last weekend's 7-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest with a 2-1 win to progress to the fifth round.
Bart Verbruggen put the ball into his own net in the fifth minute to put Chelsea ahead, but Georginio Rutter headed Brighton level in the 12th minute and Brighton won the game thanks to Kaoru Mitoma's right foot shot in the 55th minute after Rutter's assist.
Jack Clarke scored twice and new signing Jaden Philogene-Bidace got on the score-sheet as Ipswich put its difficult league campaign behind it with a 4-1 win away to Championship (second division) Coventry City.
George Hirst's penalty after two minutes put Ipswich ahead, but Joel Latibeaudiere quickly equalized for Coventry, before Clarke's two goals gave Ipswich a comfortable lead, with Philogene assuring the win in the 63rd minute.
The Premier League's bottom club, Southampton had worse luck as it lost 1-0 at home to Championship high-flier Burnley, who progresses into the firth round thanks to Marcus Edwards' 77th minute effort.
Rodrigo Muniz scored twice as Fulham had to work hard for a 2-1 win away to League One's Wigan Athletic.
Muniz put Fulham ahead in the 23rd minute and scored the winner in the 55th minute, just five minutes after Jonny Smith had given Wigan hope of an upset. Enditem
