DAKAR, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- At least 25 civilians were killed and 13 others injured in a suspected terror attack Friday in northern Mali, the Malian Armed Forces said.
A "terrorist group consisting of multiple armed individuals" ambushed a convoy escorting civilians near the northern Malian city of Gao, the army said in a statement Saturday.
It said most of the victims were foreign miners on their way to a gold mine in Gao. Three civilian vehicles were hit in the attack.
So far, 19 bodies of armed individuals have been found, and four militants have been captured, the statement said.
No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack. Enditem
