NEW DELHI -- At least 11 persons died in separate incidents at two different places in India, local police said on Sunday.
According to a police officer in the central state of Chhattisgarh, seven persons died over the past couple of days after they complained of stomach ache and infection. The deaths were reported from a village in the state's Bilaspur district. (India-Deaths)

COLOMBO -- Sri Lankan authorities have been working to restore power following a nationwide outage that occurred on Sunday, the state-owned electricity producer and supplier, Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), announced.

SEOUL -- A 139-ton fishing vessel sank off the coast near South Korea's Yeosu on Sunday, leaving four dead and five missing, according to Yonhap news agency.
It was reported that the fishing trawler from the country's southeastern port city of Busan disappeared from radar in waters off Yeosu, some 380 km south of the capital Seoul, at about 1:41 a.m. local time (1641 GMT Saturday). (South Korea-Boat-Sink)

TOKYO -- A powerful cold air mass and winter pressure patterns have brought continuous snowfall to coastal and mountainous areas along the Sea of Japan, significantly increasing snow accumulation that caused widespread disruptions to people's lives.
