JERUSALEM/BEIRUT -- The Israeli military said Sunday that it has launched airstrikes on Hezbollah targets in eastern and southern Lebanon.
An Israeli aircraft struck an underground tunnel used by Hezbollah for arms transfers in eastern Lebanon's Bekaa region, which extended from Syria into Lebanese territory and had previously been targeted by Israeli forces, an Israeli military spokesperson said. (Israel-Hezbollah Targets-Airstrikes)

TEHRAN -- A top Iranian military commander said on Sunday the country is militarily capable of closing the strategic Strait of Hormuz, but will not resort to that option for now, according to the semi-official Tasnim news agency.
Commander of the Navy of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Alireza Tangsiri made the remarks in an address to reporters in the southern Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas, while answering a question about Iran's countermeasures in response to U.S. President Donald Trump's threats, as well as sanctions against the country's oil sector. GAZA -- Israeli troops killed four Palestinians, including an elderly woman, in two separate incidents in the north and south of the Gaza Strip on Sunday, the Gaza-based health authorities said.
"Three Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces while returning to their homes near the Kuwait Roundabout, east of Gaza City. Their bodies were transferred to the Baptist Hospital," the health authorities said in a press statement. (Gaza-Israeli Attacks-Casualty)

CAIRO -- Egypt announced on Sunday that Cairo will host an emergency Arab summit on Feb. 27 to address the latest developments concerning the Palestinian issue and the Gaza Strip, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The summit was decided to be held after Egypt's high-level consultations with Arab nations, including Palestine, which requested the summit, and coordination with Bahrain, the current chair of the Arab League (AL) summit and the AL secretariat, according to the statement.
