Police in the state of New South Wales (NSW) said on Monday that officers were called to reports of a brawl "involving between 30 and 40 people armed with knives, machetes and baseball bats" at a public park 18 km west of central Sydney at about 5:40 p.m. on Sunday.
Officers arrived at the scene in the suburb of South Granville, causing the group to disperse on foot and in cars.

Ambulance crews were sent to the scene and treated the man before taking him to a local hospital in a critical condition.
Shortly after, police arrested a 29-year-old man in a nearby street. He was taken to a police station and charged with affray and carrying a knife in a public place. Enditem
