PHNOM PENH, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia's economy is projected to grow by 6.3 percent in 2025, which will push up the country's gross domestic product (GDP) to 51.39 billion U.S. dollars, a senior official said on Monday.

The Southeast Asian country's economy is mainly driven by exports of garments, footwear, and travel goods, tourism, construction and real estate, and agriculture.

Ung Luyna, director general of the General Department of Policy at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, said the industrial sector, mainly garment and construction, was projected to grow by 9.3 percent. The service sector, mainly tourism, transport and telecom, trade and real estate, was expected to increase by 4.8 percent, and agriculture was predicted to surge by 0.9 percent.

"The construction and real estate sector is expected to continue experiencing slow growth in 2025, with construction being forecast to grow by 2.5 percent and real estate by 2.8 percent," he said at a forum on Cambodia's Economic Outlook 2025.

According to the official, the kingdom's economy achieved a growth rate of 6 percent in 2024. Enditem
