NAY PYI TAW, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar launched its union-level Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) product exhibition in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday to mark the country's 78th anniversary of Union Day.
The event held at Taboung Ground near Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw was officially opened by State Administration Council Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
The exhibition aims to support MSME businesses by expanding market opportunities, strengthening cooperation between MSME businesses and local and international investors, and ensuring their long-term sustainability.
It also aims to promote the One Region, One Product program, encourage continuous improvement of MSME products and services, and replace imported products with locally made ones.
Nearly 100 exhibition booths, including those from government ministries and regional businesses, were showcasing a diverse range of products, both locally produced and imported.
The exhibited products included agricultural goods, food, textiles, gems and jewelry, machinery, handicrafts, regional specialties, medicines, and new energy products.
Along with the exhibition, an MSME product competition that will present awards to winners was also included. The expo and competition, organized by the MSME Development Committee, will run until Feb. 14. Enditem
