MAE SOT, Thailand, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Thailand is gearing up to establish an international coordination center to exchange information on cross-border human trafficking as part of its efforts to combat transnational and online crimes, a senior Thai police officer said here on Monday.

The coordination center will help Thai authorities enhance communication with foreign embassies and law enforcement agencies to identify individuals suspected of falling victim to human trafficking or engaging in illegal activities, said Thatchai Pitaneelaboot, senior inspector general of the Thai police.

This center will bring together all countries facing issues with their nationals who have gone missing or crossed Thai borders under false pretenses to work in cyber scam compounds in neighboring countries, Thatchai told reporters during an inspection visit at Mae Sot in Thailand's Tak province bordering Myanmar.

Thailand cut power supply along the border with Myanmar last week as part of its effort to combat illegal operations. Enditem
