MOSCOW -- Relations between Russia and the United States are "on the verge of rupture," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Monday.

Moscow has repeatedly warned that bilateral relations were on the brink of rupture, Ryabkov said, adding that U.S. President Donald Trump's return to the White House could lead to a change in U.S. foreign policy. (Russia-U.S.-Relation)

GAZA -- A Palestinian young man was killed on Monday by Israeli army gunfire east of Gaza City, said Palestinian sources.

Local sources and eyewitnesses said that the Israeli army stationed near the separation fence east of Gaza City opened fire on a group of young men who returned to check on their homes a day after Israeli forces withdrew from the Netzarim Corridor -- a strip of land that bisected Gaza from north to south. BUCHAREST -- Romanian President Klaus Iohannis announced his resignation on Monday, stating that he will step down on Wednesday.

ISLAMABAD -- Five terrorists were killed during an operation in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the counter-terrorism department (CTD) of police said on Monday.
