BOGOTA, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Former Colombia international striker Teo Gutierrez has reached an agreement to return to his former club Junior Barranquilla, the Colombian top-flight side said on Monday.
Gutierrez, who had been without a club since parting ways with Cartagena in December, agreed to a contract that runs until June with the option of a six-month extension.
"Teo, one of the greatest idols in the history of this club, is ready to return home," read a statement on Junior's website. It added that the 39-year-old would undergo routine medical exams on Tuesday.
This will be Gutierrez's fourth spell with Junior, having also represented the club from 2007 to 2009, in 2012 and from 2017 to 2021. He has made 209 appearances across all competitions for Junior and scored 62 goals.
The center-forward's 20-year professional career has also included spells at Sporting Lisbon, River Plate and Racing, among other clubs. He has been capped 52 times for Colombia's national team, scoring 15 goals. Enditem
