ISTANBUL, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- Turkish authorities detained 10 suspects on Tuesday as part of an investigation into several district municipalities in Istanbul governed by the opposition Republican People's Party over alleged links to terrorism, according to the Istanbul Public Prosecutor's Office.

Among those arrested were deputy district mayors, the office said in a statement.

The investigation, coordinated with the Istanbul Police Department, was reportedly prompted by a document published in December 2023.

The document outlined a strategy known as "City Consensus," which aimed to foster dialogue and alliances with various political parties in Türkiye's western provinces. Enditem
