KABUL, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- A total of 84 Afghan nationals who were released from prisons in Pakistan have returned to their homeland Afghanistan, the Radio and Television of Afghanistan (RTA) reported Tuesday.

Citing the Afghan Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation, the state-run media outlet said that the released Afghans had been arrested in Pakistan due to lack of legal documents for stay and were sent back to Afghanistan after spending two months in prison.

Pakistan also set free 91 Afghan nationals and sent them back to Afghanistan early last week.

More than 2 million Afghans have been living in Pakistan, and Islamabad has asked Afghans without legal travel documents and resident permits to leave the country, according to reports. Enditem
