BEIRUT, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov reaffirmed his country's commitment to strengthening ties with Lebanon during a visit to Beirut on Tuesday, extending an official invitation to Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to visit Belarus.
Ryzhenkov announced a new aid package, including powdered milk and ambulances, and pledged to enhance economic, security, and trade cooperation through a joint government committee. He also vowed Belarus' support for Lebanon in international forums.
Aoun welcomed Belarus' aid as a sign of solidarity and emphasized strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in security cooperation on terrorism, migration, and drug trafficking.
Later, Aoun met Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, who reiterated Hungary's support for Lebanon's security and stability. Szijjarto expressed concern over regional tensions and affirmed Hungary's commitment to ceasefire efforts, reconstruction, and military assistance for the Lebanese Army. Enditem
