COLOMBO, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- About 340,000 Sri Lankans will leave for foreign employment in 2025, Koshala Wickremasinghe, chairman of Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE), said on Tuesday addressing licensed foreign employment agents in Colombo.
The SLBFE expects Sri Lankan workers to remit over 7 billion U.S. dollars in 2025, he said.
Currently, about 31 percent of Sri Lankans leave for low-skilled jobs and in 2025 this number will be brought to 25 percent, D.D.P. Senanayake, general manager of the SLBFE said. Enditem
