HANOI, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam exported 774.3 million U.S. dollars worth of aquatic products in January, a year-on-year increase of 3.3 percent, Vietnam News cited the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers as saying on Wednesday.
Shrimp continued to lead the sector, generating 300 million dollars in revenue and accounting for 39 percent of the total exports.
Tra fish exports faced challenges in January, with revenues falling over 25 percent to 123 million dollars despite higher prices driven by a supply shortage.
Vietnam earned over 10 billion dollars from aquatic product exports in 2024. The sector targets 10.5 billion dollars for this year.
The industry's success in 2025 will largely depend on developing value-added products, improving product quality and diversifying export markets to ensure sustainable growth, said the association. Enditem
