NEW DELHI, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- India's wholesale price index (WPI) eased to 2.31 percent in January this year, data released by the federal Ministry of Commerce and Industry Friday said.

The positive rate of inflation in January is primarily due to increase in prices of manufacture of food products, food articles, other manufacturing, non-food articles and manufacture of textiles, the ministry said in a statement.

WPI inflation rate was 2.37 percent in December 2024 and 2.16 percent in November 2024.

WPI food inflation decreased from 8.89 percent in December 2024 to 7.47 percent in January 2025. Enditem
