JERUSALEM/GAZA -- Israel confirmed Friday that it has received a list of three hostages set to be released on Saturday from Hamas captivity in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office initially stated that the list was "acceptable by Israel," but a spokesman for Netanyahu later backtracked, clarifying that Israel had only received the list. NEW DELHI -- At least three people were killed and 30 others injured, some of them critically, after two captive elephants went berserk and triggered a stampede during a festival at a temple in the southern Indian state of Kerala, police said Friday.

The incident took place Thursday evening at the Manakulangara Temple near Koyilandy in Kozhikode district, about 422 km north of Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala. (India-Stampede-Casulties)

ADDIS ABABA -- African foreign ministers concluded the 46th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union (AU) on Thursday at the AU headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia's capital, after deliberating on critical issues to advance Africa's political, economic, and social development.

The two-day session, comprising foreign ministers from AU members, was held under the AU's theme for 2025: "Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations." BERLIN -- The number of people injured has risen to 36 after a car rammed into a crowd in Munich, Germany, on Thursday. German prosecutors are treating the incident as a murder attempt, according to Munich police, who held a joint press conference with prosecutors on Friday.

Police said two victims sustained critical injuries, including a young child. Investigators suspect that a 24-year-old Afghan asylum seeker deliberately drove his car into a trade union rally in the city center.
