PRAGUE, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- A concert to celebrate Chinese New Year was held here on Thursday evening, bringing together nearly 300 audiences from various sectors in the Czech Republic, including former Czech President Milos Zeman.

Speaking before the start of the concert, Chinese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Feng Biao recalled that 2024 marked the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Czech Republic, and the Chinese Embassy successfully hosted a series of celebratory events.

Looking ahead to 2025, China is willing to work with the Czech side to expand exchanges and cooperation in various fields, promoting the healthy and stable development of China-Czech relations, he said.

The concert, themed "Musical Harmony Between East and West," featured performances by musicians from the Beijing Symphony Orchestra and the Beijing Chinese Orchestra.

"It was both European and Chinese, and it was very interesting," Czech audience Jaromira Vondrackova told Xinhua about the concert, calling it "a great experience."

"We're not here for the first time, nor the last. We have been long-time friends with China and our Chinese comrades, so we are always happy to come," said Pavel Pilny, another Czech audience.

Before the concert, a Chinese tourism promotion event was also held, where brochures about traveling to China were distributed, and China's entry facilitation policies were introduced.

China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Chinese Embassy in the Czech Republic launched the first "Happy Chinese New Year" event in the Czech Republic in 2015. Enditem
