LUANDA, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Volkswagen Group South Africa has expressed interest in setting up a vehicle assembly plant in Angola, Angolan national news agency Angop reported.

Citing a press release from the Angolan Embassy in South Africa, Angop said the Angolan ambassador met with a delegation from Volkswagen South Africa to discuss potential investment opportunities in Angola.

At the meeting, the Volkswagen delegation explored the possibility of expanding its operations by establishing an assembly line in Angola.

"After consolidating its presence in South Africa, Volkswagen seeks to expand its business into new markets, with Angola being a priority," Angop quoted the release as saying.

According to the release, Volkswagen South Africa aims to meet the growing demand for quality vehicles at competitive prices in the Angolan market.
