CAIRO -- China reaffirmed its firm support for the two-state solution as the only realistic path to resolving the recurring cycles of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, China's envoy to Egypt and the Arab League said on Monday.

Speaking at the Fourth Meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution held in Cairo, Ambassador Liao Liqiang expressed deep concern over the situation in Gaza and urged the international community to push for full implementation of the ceasefire agreement, according to a statement released by the Chinese embassy. RIYADH -- The United States and Russia have agreed to work on a path to ending the conflict in Ukraine and improve bilateral ties during extensive high-level talks in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.

In the first face-to-face interactions between senior U.S. and Russian officials since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in February 2022, the Russian delegation, led by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the Kremlin's foreign affairs adviser Yuri Ushakov, met with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who was accompanied by National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and U.S. special envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff. AMMAN -- The Chinese embassy in Jordan and the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization held a departure ceremony on Tuesday for a humanitarian aid shipment to the Gaza Strip.

The humanitarian assistance provided by China will be transported from Jordan to Gaza via land borders. The emergency aid, consisting of 60,000 food parcels, will be delivered in six shipments. The initial shipment, which includes about 12,000 food parcels, will be handed over to the World Food Programme, the Palestine Red Crescent, and other relevant organizations once the shipment reaches Gaza. GAZA -- Hamas reaffirmed on Tuesday its willingness to implement the second and third phases of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.

Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem said in a statement that the group had agreed, at the request of a mediator, to double the number of Israeli hostages to be released, demonstrating its commitment to the deal. (Hamas-Gaza Ceasefire-Implementation) Enditem
