RAMALLAH, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- Palestine on Wednesday accused Israel of waging a comprehensive war on the West Bank, particularly in the northern regions, involving "crimes of murder, displacement, and the destruction of property."

In a statement issued by the Palestinian News Agency WAFA, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Information Nabil Abu Rudeineh said Israeli forces were conducting a systematic campaign of destruction in the cities of Jenin and Tulkarm and their surrounding camps.

Abu Rudeineh said the campaign has resulted in the deaths of dozens of citizens while the international community remains silent about Israel's plans for "racist annexation and territorial expansion."

He called on the U.S. administration's intervention to halt "the ongoing Israeli aggression against our people and land," warning that failing to do so would only embolden Israel and lead to an uncontrollable escalation of violence.

Abu Rudeineh emphasized that the Palestinian people would not accept any plans for displacement or the establishment of an alternative homeland.

"Threatening our people will not benefit anyone and will only lead to widespread destruction, both here and in the broader region," he added.

On January 21, the Israeli army launched a military operation named "Iron Wall" in Jenin, its refugee camp, and other areas in the northern West Bank, claiming the operation was intended to target militants and dismantle "terrorist infrastructure."

Since the escalation of tensions on October 7, 2023, the West Bank has witnessed increasing violence, with more than 800 Palestinians killed by Israeli forces, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. Enditem
