YANGON, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar is actively working on drafting the National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy and Policy, according to a report from the state-run daily Myanma Alinn on Wednesday.
The fourth coordination meeting for drafting the National AI Strategy and Policy was held in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday, the report said.
Speaking at the meeting, Union Minister for Science and Technology Myo Thein Kyaw said that the draft national AI policy is being developed to effectively integrate AI into the country's development sectors, adding that AI is rapidly advancing in the global economy and society, the report said.
The union minister added that the development of the policy also aims to raise awareness among citizens about the ethics, standards, and regulations to be followed, and to develop human resources for the AI sector and systematically collaborate with international partners, the report said.
He also stressed the importance of working closely with AI experts and professionals, the report added. Enditem
