JERUSALEM -- Israel announced on Thursday that the body of Oded Lifshitz, one of the oldest hostages in Gaza, had been identified after being released earlier in the day by Hamas, along with the bodies of a mother and her two sons.
Lifshitz, an 83-year-old retired journalist and peace activist, "was killed while being held captive by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said in a statement. (Israel-Hostage-Identification)

JERUSALEM -- Three empty buses exploded simultaneously Thursday night in Israel's Tel Aviv area, while explosive devices were found on at least two others before they could detonate, in what police said was a "suspected terror attack."

RIYADH -- Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a phone call on Thursday with Russian President Vladimir Putin on bilateral ties and the recent U.S.-Russia talks, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
During the phone conversation, Putin thanked Saudi Arabia for hosting the talks.

CAIRO -- Egypt has identified the tomb of Pharaoh Thutmose II, the last lost royal tomb of the kings of the 18th Dynasty, in the Theban mountain region west of Luxor, the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced.
It marks the first discovery of a royal tomb since King Tutankhamun's tomb was unearthed in 1922, the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday. (Egypt-Pharaoh Tomb-Discovery) Enditem
