KABUL, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Afghan authorities have launched development projects to stabilize the local economy in east Afghanistan's Nangarhar province, the state-run Bakhtar news agency reported Friday.
The projects, worth 315 million afghani (about 4.3 million U.S. dollars), include the construction of roads, canals, dams, and other infrastructure facilities in several districts of this province, the state-owned media outlet added.
With the implementation of the essential projects, the living conditions of the people in Nangarhar would be improved and more than 25,000 people would find job opportunities, according to the report.
The Afghan interim government has planned to launch more development and infrastructure projects across the war-ravaged country to tackle economic challenges and create job opportunities. Enditem
