JAKARTA, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's state-owned carrier, Pelita Air, has announced that it would add four aircraft, fewer than its initial plan of six.

"Despite the reduction from the initial target, the company remains committed to expanding its fleet to support the growth of our flight routes. The adjustment is due to limited supply from manufacturers such as Airbus and Boeing. We can only receive four aircraft this year," said Asa Perkasa, sales director of PT Pelita Air, in Jakarta.

Perkasa said that the decision to add the aircraft aligned with the company's strategy to open new routes and increase flight frequency on existing ones.

Currently, Pelita Air serves 16 domestic routes, covering 15 destination cities across Indonesia.

The airline operates 12 Airbus A320 aircraft. With the new planes, Pelita Air's total fleet will reach 16 by 2025. Enditem
