ABIDJAN, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Cote d'Ivoire on Friday kicked off its first edition of the International Exhibition on Artificial Intelligence, Defense, and Space in Abidjan, the economic capital of Cote d'Ivoire.

The two-day international exhibition, gathering more than 3,000 representatives from governments, enterprises, and research institutions, aims to promote the deep application of artificial intelligence technology, particularly in the fields of defense and aerospace.

The exhibition area featured cutting-edge technological equipment such as intelligent drones and satellite mapping systems, alongside multiple thematic seminars exploring the application of AI and aerospace technologies in Africa's security, agriculture, healthcare, and other fields.

In his opening speech, Yaya Sylla, chairman and chief executive officer of SaH Analytics International, an AI and cybersecurity firm based in Cote d'Ivoire and the event's initiator, stressed that Africa's future must rely on innovation and technological sovereignty.

"This exhibition embodies our passion and ambition, aiming to connect key players in technology, defense, and aerospace to lay the foundation for Africa's competitiveness in these strategic fields," he added. Enditem
