HANOI, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam boasts some of the lowest construction costs for a mid-specification standard data center in the Asia-Pacific region, Vietnam News reported, citing the latest Asia Pacific Data Center Construction Cost Guide 2025.
The guide report was compiled by global commercial real estate services company Cushman & Wakefield.
Vietnam continued to be recognized as an attractive destination for data center investors, the report said, adding that the average construction cost for a mid-specification standard data center in Vietnam is 6.9 million U.S. dollars per megawatt, an increase of 3.5 percent year-on-year.
Trang Bui, country head of Cushman & Wakefield Vietnam, said that with competitive construction costs and land prices, along with a prime geographical location, Vietnam had great potential to become a data center market, as evidenced by the level of interest from international operators.
According to Cushman & Wakefield, Vietnam currently has 51MW of operational data center capacity, 11MW under construction, and an additional 28MW planned within the next five to seven years. Enditem
