BERLIN, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- A man was seriously injured at the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin-Mitte on Friday evening, triggering a large police operation.
Emergency workers were at the scene to assist several individuals who had witnessed the incident, local police said.
The assailant remains at large. Authorities cordoned off the site in the city center and launched a search operation. According to the German newspaper Tagesspiegel, the victim sustained injuries from a sharp object and was transported to a hospital by the fire brigade.
The attack reportedly occurred on the northern side of the Holocaust Memorial. Enditem
