Afghan deputy PM leaves for Uzbekistan to boost multiple ties

KABUL, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- Afghan interim government's Acting Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, left Kabul for Uzbekistan, aiming to enhance bilateral relations in various sectors, the office of the acting deputy prime minister for economic affairs said in a statement on Saturday.

Leading a high-ranking delegation, Barader would meet Uzbek officials to discuss issues in an effort to enhance political, economic, trade and transit relations between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, the statement clarified.

During the two-day visit, the delegation seeks to capture the attention of Uzbek investors for the purpose of encouraging investment in Afghanistan, it said.

Since taking control in August 2021, the leaders of the Afghan interim government have been actively working to enhance diplomatic relations with various countries, yet they have not gained recognition from any country to date. Enditem
