Nearly 11,000 Afghan nationals receive birth cards in one month

KABUL, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) has distributed birth certificates to nearly 11,000 Afghan nationals over the past month, a local media outlet reported on Saturday.

According to official data, the NSIA has distributed birth cards to 10,873 people and death sheets to 425 others in the last month, Tolonews reported.

The authority has also provided ID cards to 3,747 Afghan citizens abroad, it said.

The NSIA has announced the extension of electronic ID distribution centers into rural districts and places, enabling residents to acquire their IDs. Enditem
