YANGON, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities have seized 50 kg of Ice (methamphetamine) in eastern Myanmar's Shan state, the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) reported on Sunday.

Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police conducted a search of a vehicle in Kengtung township of Shan state on Feb. 21, and confiscated the narcotics, it said.

The seized narcotics had a street value of 400 million kyats (about 190,000 U.S. dollars), and a suspect was arrested in connection with the case, it added.

The suspect has been charged under the country's law, and further investigations are ongoing, the CCDAC said. Enditem
