KAMPALA, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- Uganda Teen Cranes head coach Sheryl Botes has named a squad to begin preparations for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup 2025 qualifier.
Uganda will host Kenya in the second round of the qualifiers on March 8, with the return leg set for eight days later in Nairobi.
Botes told Xinhua on Sunday, "We need to start putting in the work because we are facing a team that played at the World Cup last year."
Uganda advanced to the second round after defeating Namibia 18-1 on aggregate.
If the Teen Cranes progress to the next stage, they will face the winner between Cameroon and Ethiopia in the third round, which determines one of the four teams that will qualify for the World Cup.
Morocco, which qualifies automatically as host, will stage the tournament from Oct. 17 to Nov. 8, 2025.
