DAMASCUS, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- Invitations have been sent to participants for Syria's long-anticipated National Dialogue Conference, the preparatory committee announced on Sunday, with an initial date set for Feb. 25.

Committee member Huda Al-Atassi emphasized inclusivity, saying extensive consultations had been conducted across Syria's provinces to ensure broad representation.

"We have witnessed a remarkable level of national consensus among Syrians, which has greatly facilitated our work," Al-Atassi told a press briefing.

Key priorities identified by participants include transitional justice, constitutional development, institutional and economic reforms, national unity, and civil and political freedoms, she said.

Al-Atassi highlighted calls for a temporary constitutional declaration to guide the transitional period, an economic recovery plan, and restructuring government institutions for greater public participation. Security and stability for rebuilding state institutions were also key themes.

Hassan Al-Daghim, spokesperson for the Preparatory Committee, outlined the timeline, stating that international participants were expected to arrive on Monday, with the conference set to commence soon after, though final logistical and security arrangements were still being finalized. According to an invitation circulating online, the initial date is set for Feb. 25. Enditem
