JERUSALEM -- Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz on Sunday ordered the military to prepare for a yearlong presence in refugee camps in the West Bank as Israel escalates the ongoing large-scale military campaign in the occupied Palestinian territory.
The Israeli military expanded its operations early Sunday into Qabatiya, a city in the northern West Bank, with troops and bulldozers entering the area, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA. JERUSALEM/BEIRUT -- Israel's military said on Sunday evening it launched a new wave of airstrikes in southern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah sites despite a ceasefire agreement.

BEIRUT/TEHRAN -- Tens of thousands of mourners gathered in Beirut on Sunday for the funeral of former Hezbollah leaders Hassan Nasrallah and Hashem Safieddine, as Israeli warplanes conducted low-altitude flights over the Lebanese capital.

KHARTOUM -- The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) on Sunday announced that it has lifted the siege on the strategic city of El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan State, and regained control of al-Gitaina city in White Nile State.
